Demian Chapter Two Value Graph by Stevens Dejesus

In chapter two of Demian characters Sinclair and Demian meet for the first time. There relationship flourishes and then dissipates unexpectedly without hint. Chapter two gives the complexities of the relationship between Demian and Sinclair and begin to bring the story of Cain and Abel to the front of the text. Throughout the chapter the story of  Cain and Abel is intertwined with the premature projections of the reader. This draws the reader to see the beginning patterns of Sinclair’s adaptation of Cain and Abel to himself, Demian and Kromer.

    Hello reading4awesome,

This comment is addressed to your whole group. Nice value graphs. Sam, exploring the metonymy section and marking down repeated, significant words was a great use of the synthetic register. Something Stevens says, “Throughout the chapter the story of Cain and Abel is intertwined with the PREMATURE projections of the reader,” is important to the way the story unfolds for most readers and the cause/effect within Sinclair and Demian’s relationship. Christina, saying that Demian was a ‘strong guiding light’ for Sinclair says a lot about how you perceived him. Maybe you could take a look at some of the other students blogs and see how your perception differs from theirs.
